Lacking Lawyers, Justice is Denied

California’s cap on “pain and suffering” has lead to an unwillingness by lawyers to proceed with malpractice cases.  Via the LA Times.

But the Insurance companies are making money!  That’s gotta be good.

Antigua to become Pirate Bay

The W.T.O. has granted Antigua the right to violate U.S. copyrights, ruling that U.S. restrictions on online gambling violate W.T.O. agreements.

Predictably, the U.S. is not happy with this and is making vague threats.W

EDIT. The best joke title so far is World Trade Organization says Piracy is OK in the Caribbean.

Back from vacation

I’ve returned from a brief vacation, and now begin the job of cleaning up my life following everything being backburnered for the duration of finals.  I took the time to deal with the important things, like bills, but things like “re-grout the bathtub” and “buy gifts” went unattended.

Personally, I feel horrible for the plight of people pulling down six figures. Easily. Just horrible.

It’s a shame that I’m holed up in the library.

I can’t provide you with my commentary on things of note.  But I can provide links to such things.

Judge rules that sperm donor is liable for child support.

U.S. says that it can kidnap any one they want, anywhere.   And they will.

The plaintiffs would like to call Bugs Bunny.

An Italian court has ordered several cartoon characters to appear as witnesses in a counterfeiting trial. Via Neatorama.

I return to International Law now.
