But polluting my daily commute with dozens of illegally placed signs does not endear you to any one at all.
Every day, I travel by an adult entertainment establishment of some local repute. The billboard has recently featured a series of either anti-Obama or vaguely pro-Republican (in the fiscally conservative vein) messages.
Following last week’s cyanide mystery and Monday’s mailbox that shouldn’t be there, today we have:
Bomb Squad responds to Suspicious Package.
McCain’s Office in Colorado receives threat (and powder).
Do I think anything is going to happen? No.
Do I think that there are going to be a series of low grade panics? Oh, you betcha.
UPDATE
And they were both false alarms.
The Denver PD is proposing that the Denver City Council pass a law forbidding protestors at the DNC from possessing certain things, chains, pipes, bulletproof vests and the like.
As happens rather frequently, the law and order types are all in favor of this (look to the comment). Now, I’m not going to get into that whole debate, but I do have one thing to add.
